About Us

Mohammed Almasri

My name is Mohammed Almasri and I am a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioner and an ACC treatment provider. I am a member of the Acupuncture NZ, which ensures its registered practitioners meet the highest of standards, professional conduct and safe practices. I am also a Hijama Therapist and the President of the Hijama Association New Zealand (HANZ).

As a practitioner with over 20 years of experience in holistic medicine, I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to my practice. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to understanding the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit, and have developed a deep understanding of the root causes of various health issues. By combining traditional and modern techniques, I work with my clients to create personalized treatment plans that address not just the symptoms, but the underlying imbalances in the body. My focus on prevention and whole-body wellness has helped my clients achieve optimal health and wellbeing, and I am committed to continuing to provide the highest level of care to those seeking a holistic approach to their health.

The fundamental principal of TCM is that the human body is considered as a whole system. The balance of the system is the foundation of health, and thus the imbalance of it will result in illness or pain. The purpose of TCM is to re-balance the system to return you to health.

TCM is comprised of many different therapies including Acupuncture, Chinese Massage Therapy, Cupping Therapy, Chinese Herbs, Electro Therapy, Moxibustion, Qigong, Diet & Lifestyle Advice. Over the years I have come to specialize in many conditions and have developed many modified techniques to achieve optimum results. So It is common in my practice to combine 1 or 2 or even 3 therapies in one session depending on the problem.

My experience covers a broad spectrum of conditions, including but not limited to:

Musculoskeletal Injuries, Acute & Chronic pain, Headaches & Migraines, Digestive & Bowel Problems, Metabolism Issues, Tiredness & Fatigue, Emotional Imbalances, Insomnia, Gynaecological Disorders, Skin Diseases, Urinary Dysfunction, Edema, Immunity Problems and much more. I consistently engage in research and studies to refine my skills and expand my knowledge.

I have been a Hijama Therapist for over 15 years. I have become a specialist in treating a large variety of holistic and Musculo-skeletal conditions using only Islamic Cupping and Hijama. Occasionally both Hijama and Chinese Medicine are combined as they complement each other, especially when dealing with complex conditions.

Hijama therapy is part of prophetic medicine (Sunnah Medicine) and can treat a wide range of diseases and physical issues. It is a Sunnah that has been recommended for Muslims by the prophet Mohammed (PBUH). There are many authentic narrations quoting what the prophet (PBUH) and his companions said regarding Hijama. They include the benefits, timings, rulings and much more.

This is one of the narrations regarding Hijama:
“If there is something excellent to be used as a remedy, then it is Hijama Cupping”. Reported by Abu Huraira.[Saheeh Sunan ibn Maajah #3476].

I’m a registered nurse with over 12 years of clinical experience, but my journey into holistic healing began from a place of personal conviction. I started questioning the way health was being approached, especially when I saw how quick the system was to push medications without always addressing the root cause. I knew there had to be a better, more natural way to care for the body, and that’s what led me down this path.

In 2016, I came across a gap in natural health care here in New Zealand, there was a real demand for Hijama therapy but no women practising it or providing it as a legit service. At the time, it was more of a curiosity. But when the world shifted in 2019 and the pressure of conventional medicine intensified, I felt a pull to go beyond the clinical system. I wanted to advocate for a gentler, more intentional approach to health, one that works with the body, not against it. That’s when I began taking Hijama therapy seriously. That’s when I started working alongside Mohammad in the clinic because I saw first-hand the power of detoxification, root-cause healing, intentional care, and the rationale for our body needing this Sunnah therapy. It’s been an incredible journey ever since.

What started as a small step quickly became a deeply fulfilling mission: to help others reclaim their health naturally, to educate them about their body’s ability to heal, and to create a space where they feel seen, safe, and supported. Today, I continue this journey by studying Traditional Chinese Medicine, an incredible system of root-cause healing that complements Hijama beautifully. My goal is to integrate acupuncture and Chinese medical principles into my practice to help people move through pain, rebalance their health, and restore harmony from within.

This work is more than a career, it’s my passion, my purpose, and a way of life. And I’m honoured to walk alongside my clients on their healing journey.
