Pre & Post-Treatment Care Instructions
PRE-TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
- It is optional to have a hot shower or go for a stroll a few hours before treatment
- You do not need to stop any prescribed medications on the day of your Hijama treatment
- If you are taking blood thinners, please make sure you mention it to us in the consent form

Do not eat 2-3 hours before treatment
(Best to keep your fast from the night before if you are being treated anytime in the morning until midday, unless you need to take medication in the morning with food) - Perform ablution before treatment as it is a sunnah

POSSIBILITY OF RARE REACTIONS POST TREATMENT

Dizziness or light headedness
(This can be due to low blood pressure, low blood sugar, anemia, or metaphysical issues) - Nausea or vomiting
- Shaking or seizures
- Fainting
- Weakness or tiredness
- Itchy skin where Hijama was performed (this may occur with sensitive skin as it is healing)
- Deep coloured skin pigmentation that may last between 1 to 2 weeks

Very minor scaring from the tiny superficial incisions of surgical blade
(Skin types vary so it is not predictable or guaranteed to who scars and who doesn’t)
POST-TREATMENT CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Do not shower after Hijama Therapy for 12-24 hours
- It is safer to do so to prevent infection, also allows faster healing of skin
- As the body is recovering it is not recommended to have any extra stimulus from hot or cold showers
Best not to do any exercise after Hijama Therapy
- Avoid sports, gym, running and swimming. Your body will respond better when you rest for 1-2 days.
- You can still go for relaxing walks after the therapy, this helps increase your blood oxygen without overheating the body or sweating.
- Avoid going to sauna or steam rooms for at least 2-3 days after treatment.
Diet and Fluid intake after Hijama Therapy
- It is important to increase your fluid intake after Cupping or Hijama Therapy, this helps in the recovery process and to further cleanse your body from any residual toxins.
- According to research, post Hijama Therapy Diet can further assist in detoxing the liver and the body. One of the main benefits is to help regulate the metabolism and help in the increase of energy and vitality.
Cutting out all animal proteins and all dairy products for the first 24 to 48 hours.
- This includes red meats, chicken, all seafood, other animals, milk, yoghurt, butter and cheese.
- You can eat rice, breads, salads, vegetables, fruits, soups, and eggs.
